Growing up, I wanted to be a preacher;
maybe I just liked the idea of a captive audience.
I ended up moving to New York to be an actor. That led to doing comedy and writing my own one-man shows about my strange upbringing in a cult. I met cool people in comedy who also worked as copywriters. Now, I work in the cultish industry of advertising. It's not bad (as far as cults go).
